John Dewar fue uno de los primeros escoceses que mezclo el whisky y fue el primero en mezclarlo bien, tanto así que puso su nombre en la botella como una marca de calidad. En Dewar’s se elaboran whiskies añejados desde que su fundador percibió por primera vez que al dejar el whisky en barricas de madera durante mas tiempo conseguía una diferencia importante en el sabor.
